SupportThese projects are maintained by volunteers. If you are having problems with the software, you can get help from other users and the volunteer developers. QuestionsIf you have a question about using the tools, then the first thing to do is the check the Wiki and the sleuthkit-users archive to see if the answer to your question already exists. If you cannot find an answer, then send an e-mail to the sleuthkit-users list (you will need to subscribe to post to it). When you post your question, be sure to include:
If your question is about an error message, then be sure to include the exact message so that it can be tracked down. Reporting BugsIf you have a bug to report, then send e-mail to the sleuthkit-users list. When you post the bug, be sure to include (at least):
After you submit the bug, someone will try to verify it. You can also check one of the bug trackers to determine if the bug has already been reported. Verified bugs will be added to one of the bug trackers. Submitting Code / PatchesCode submissions are always welcome. Refer to the Developer Guidelines for details. Feature SuggestionsIf you have ideas for a new feature, then you are encouraged to implement it and submit the code. If you are not a developer, then you can post the idea to one of the Feature Request trackers. Developers can look at that list for ideas and maybe one of them will implement it. You will need a SourceForge.net account to create the artifact. If you do not want to create an account, you can submit the feature request to the sleuthkit-users list and someone will post it there.
Submitting Document UpdatesIf you find an error in documentation or if you want to contribute new documentation, send the changes or new file to < doc-updates [at] sleuthkit {dot} org >. |
